As part of the on-going effort by the Lagos State Government to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has further extended the deadline for filing of Annual Tax Returns for individual taxpayers including self-employed persons from June 1st to June 30th, 2020. This was contained in the public notice issued by the Service and signed by the Executive Chairman, Ayodele Subair. The Service had in March 2020 extended the deadline for filing from 31st March, 2020 to 31st May, 2020.
The Service enjoins taxpayers to access their eTax platform for all tax administration matters, including filing of annual returns, generation of assessment and payment schedule and payment of the liabilities from the comfort of their homes and offices.
The management and staff of the Service implore taxpayers in the State to stay safe and follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines as issued by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu and the relevant health authorities.
