Ondo State Internal Revenue remits N12million Radio & Licence fees to LGs

The Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) has remitted the sum of 12million Naira to all the eighteen (18) Local Governments in the State, being for Radio and Television Licensing fee. This was consequent upon the Revenue Agency’s mandate to assist the LGs in collecting their revenues and disbursing accordingly.

The cheque was presented by the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Mr. Tolu Adegbie to Mr. Segun Odunsanya – Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on 23rd June, 2020. The Chairman said that the amount is relatively lower as a result of paucity of funds caused by the Covid-19 pandemic effect on the economy.

In response, The Permanent Secretary, who received the the money on behalf of all the 18 LGs appreciated the Chairman and prayed that the Covid-19 pandemic ends in no time so as to enable to Revenue Agency pay more attention on other aspects of revenue generation for the LGS and the state in general.
