New set of measures from LIRS to ease the impact of COVID-19 on Taxpayers

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has issued a public notice on the implementation of tax incentives and reliefs for Taxpayers (Individuals and Businesses) in Lagos State.

The public notice signed by the Executive Chairman of the Revenue Agency noted that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, LIRS has taken several measures to mitigate its impact on taxpayers and to ensure business continuity.

In furtherance of these measures, the Agency is now implementing seven (7) additional measures to further ease the impact of the pandemic on the taxpayers. These include: allowing on a case by case basis, instalment payment of outstanding liabilities, waiver of penalties, among others.
